Hi guys, thanks for your time.

I have my first every ACS assessments in just under a month, i feel fairly confident as i am quite bright and have been training.

I believe i am doing 3 days , one papers, one core, one appliances

It would be great if anyone could give me some guidance as to :

What i should expect ?
what are the main things to revise on and they are likely to ask ?
what tips can you give me ?

( and really, how hard is it ? )

to be asked questions on what you have been trained

everything associated with safety

what tips can you give me ?
relax, don't guess and be wrong, ask for guidance, if you need to use your books do so, a lot of the assessment is based on you researching , (you must know how to tt, flue flow & spillage etc or you won't inspire confidence)

( and really, how hard is it ? )
not hard at all, you won't be asked anything you haven't got in your books, or been shown, 90% of stress is caused by you not relaxing, give yourself credit for what you have learned and the work you have put in(if you have worked!!) i have met a few who come in after 5 yrs and expect to sail through, at the first tea break they tell us all where they have worked, what they have done, how much they have earned, and struggle more than the ones who come in and just get on with it.

I re sat ACS last summer, the hardest things were the open flue stuff particularly as I only do new boiler installs and don't do Gas Safety inspections etc.

Flue flow test
Soundness testing
Purge procedure
Gas rates
Temporary earth bond (remove meter)

Good luck

sat my refresher 4 days back, its tuff but if your doing it every day you will okay.
didnt like the working out of the replacement of 30mbr meter TT, never seen one, never will!
Saw a guy so nervous he spelt his name wrong, poor jammie i mean jamie.🙂
If I remember right:

copper pipe faults, steel clip, spacing to far apart, in concrete with no protection
there you go there one answer for ya.🙂
