Hi there,

I have a problem with the actuator on a 3 port motorised valve in our system. 2 years ago a plumber installed a Salus MV322 - 3 Port Motorised Valve in 22mm. 1 year on when the system clicked from hot water to heating, it made an awful noise. Clunk! even waking the kids when it turned on!
Anyway, it died and left us with no heating and my wife and 7 month boy in the house in the cold!

So I purchased a replacemnt and fitted a direct replacement actuator.

Another year has passed and the same thing is starting to happen. It's really noisy and I suspect it will at some point die and leave us in the cold.

So, I thought I would look for a replacement and be prepared this time.

My questions for you are...
1) Are Salus products just crap and cheap therefore only expected to last a year?
2) If not what else could be the problem?
3) If so then do I need to replace the 3 port valve AND the actuator? OR can I just replace the actuator with a better make which won't need replacing every year?

Cheers
R1
