Hi all, I have a medium sized detached 4 bedroom house with 2 en-suites, family bathroom and downstairs toilet and sink. It was build in 1998 by a mainstream building company and has a regular standard boiler for that year, central heating using 1/2 copper pipe, an immersion tank with a motorised CH switch. The boiler is in the attached garage. The pipe work comes in under the guest en-suite and across the landing into the airing cupboard. There is a large cold water tank in the loft. I think it would be described as low pressure.
My wife has decided we need to upgrade our bathrooms and wants to replace the old ball and valve toilets with more modern ones, and install Hans Grohe taps and Raindance showers. Are these suitable for use with the boiler we have? Will we need to install a pump, and if so, one or two?
Would it be a good time to install a new boiler and if so, what type? Would it still be located in the garage (which we would prefer)?
If we didn't install a new boiler, would it be a good idea to put pipe work in now for a new boiler as the tiles on the guest en-suite floor are to be replaced and I wouldn't like to do it again at a later stage, especially as the wall tiles are to be tiled right onto the new floor tiles?
All advice gratefully received
