The attached pictures should say more than I can but basically there is a capped pipe into the top of our boiler cupboard (22mm). It is capped off here (see image 1). This then runs up to near ceiling level then turns 90 into external wall (see image 2). Image 3 shows possibly said pipe on the external wall but can't guarantee its that pipe.. Boiler is now a combi, any one guess what the purpose of this pipe was, first off gas or water? And why is it going outside if the pipe I can see inside is the one I see on the outside. Ideally I'd like this pipe removed at least the internal bit but I'm not confident enough to uncap it if its water or gas.
How would a plumber determine what it was and if redundant and removeable? This is in a flat with properties below so some jeopardy involved if water pipe.
