hi all just want a bit of advice please, im running a new jg plastic pipe lines hot and cold due to refitting bathroom, i want it to go through the joist as this is the most direct route to the mains but they will pass over a halogen light fitting that is recessed in the ceiling below, will it be ok to do this or do i need to cover it somehow, pipes are jg speedfit barrier pe-x 15mm and are around 30mm above the light hope i have included enough info, thanks

will melt, found out the hard way. feed a pipe in a loft under the boarding week late , new shower!

I Agree with their advice.. find another route, away from the light. if it's plastic and it's near anything that's heating, it'll melt.

i think that there needs to be a minimum of 150mm clearance of light fittings for plastic pipe
