Gents, Im just oil so wont touch this thing but its my Godfather so he reached out to me.
As above, one of the ovens gets a pilot light (in that he feels heat at the back) but it wont wind up. It doesnt go out unless its turned off.
Would a general gas appliance type bloke be able to work on it or does he need to re-mortgage to get Edwards & Godding out?

Cheers

Re: AGA Masterchef - only a pilot light - general appliance repair man or AGA special

needs a new stat, simple in principle to replace, a bugger to do on some of these, millions of screws and can be a tad awkward. Need the exact model number to order the part of one of the specialist spares sites, then an hour or so of messing about. Any reasonable gas techie can work on it if they have cookers ticket as it isnt a range as such. You can buy the bit yourself if you feel inclined and get them to fit it, saves 2 visit costs.

Thanks LP, Ill get the details from him. I have an AGA account due to my (pointless) Rayburn Guild membership - probably still cheaper from Harrods.
Thanks

I use one of the many gas parts suppliers online to find stats for cookers, forget AGA spares unless you cant find the bit. Surprised you find rayburn guild pointless, I get regular work off the site, mainly for cookers so old they wont touch them..,,, Anywork they have put my way has always been a total waste of space though as parts never arrive or they then say you dont have the experience to do the job............. the guild guy got right up my nose once, so emailed the AGA ceo and got a response the next day, snr manager in the uk kicking bum on my behalf but still no work fm them. But I can pop back anytime for more training on the ranges they never let you work on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
