Hi Guys,

Just a quick question, I understand the external soil stack regs for a open vented, my customer wants me to fit a air admitance valve on her new stack which i'm putting up. It will be external inbetween two windows . my question is do i have to go past the guttering, for some reason i'm thinking it only has to be 1m above flood level eg bath? Thanks for your help on this :)

Doesn't need to go above gutters about 6"-12" under soffits is fine

But be careful some aav can only go inside get one for outside

If its A1 designated it can be fitted bellow the flood level aswell, if you are going to run it up past the guttering you may aswell vent the stack instead, if its within 3m of an opening vent 900mm above it.
