hi all,
a simple query for you.the bleed screw on the incoming pipe to the coil in the cylinder is leaking,so i thought no problem i'll change it.the problem is that i can't find anywhere on the system to dump the initial pressure the water will be under and lets say in the past i've had the unfortunate experience of standing next to someone undoing the pipes to the coil when changing the cylinder & been showered with several litres of water under pressure.it's an indirect system and i can't believe theres no way release the pressure except for cracking the pipes???
thanks for your help in advance;)

hi gas man,
i was hoping to avoid that but the problem i have, is that even doing that i'll need to crack a pipe open and put up with the water blasting everywhere under pressure as it looks like theres no drain tap,the bandits

if you buy direct replacement size wise you only need to close valves either side couple of drip trays under neath to catch spills

hi again gas man,
the air bleed is on the inlet pipe to coil which is in cupboard,a very small & tight cupboard, just wider than the cylinder and in front a lovely new wooden floor with no room for anything except towels to mop up but pressure to high for that, only one valve on burner side for water the other on heating side so can't isolate cylinder hot water circuit totally.i think i'm stuck with cracking the pipes at the boiler to empty system which is in garage.
