Hi all

Iv been struggling with air coming put of my hot water taps in a certain section of the building.
Its been like this for about a year now and happens mostly in the morning and sometimes in the late afternoon.
The return pipe does not seem to be to hot and thinking it might be a return problem, taking into mind that the troubled area is the top 3 floors of the south wing.

Could it be that there is an AAV that is faulty or maybe i should install one at the highest point?

Please would someone be able to assist me with this headace.

Kind regards

Hi You mention return. Is this a secondary return? (forming a circuit in order to cut down the amount of cold water drawn before hot) And do the times coincide with peak demand? It could be the cylinder cold feed is under sized or restricted in some way, foreign body, partially closed valve, corrosion. But with out further info on type and size of the system its difficult to be precise.

Are you sure this is air coming out rather than being sucked in? How is the water heated and stored?
