From description sounds like you can fit a double check valve if no room?

There is a new law coming in, you wont be able to use height adjustable valves that have a joint under water. Don't know when it is coming in though.

I did some research and testing on a new prototype product for a manufacturer not a fill valve. He was telling me they were working on another item as the ones we are discussing because the rules were going change. He didn't say when but it is going to happen. I look forward to testing the new prototype/product.
