Keeps spluttering at taps, was thinking of fitting an aav. Also one of the showers bangs randomly possibly air again. Is there a prob with fitting a aav to the loop?
Cheers

+1 to sort the problem dont mask it

Unvented the system is 12 plus years old he got a lot of problems when the bronze pump was changed.

fitted the right way round?

Did you bleed the pump? To be fair though mains pressure water or balanced from an unvented cylinder should clear of air within a minute.

Does the cylinder have an internal or external expansion vessel that needs re-charging? Trying to think of the simple basic stuff.

Check the non return.
I gave seen double check valves used to prevent back flow! The secondary pump can't clear the air, as it can't open the non return. Thus also burns pumps out quickly.
Needs a very lightly sprung non return.
