just replaced taps on bath, sink and downstairs loo sink. the water comes out in spurts rather than flows and only the taps replaced are affected. tried getting rid of air in sysyem in several ways but is still doing it. what am i doinf wrong

not tank fed, we have a combi boiler and the cold water is direct off mains. we have used a mixer tap in kitchen blocking this off, opened the hot side then cold side allowing mains pressure to purge the system. flushed toilets whilst running all the taps. water runs well but once we have finished this process and turn all taps of, resume with turning hot tap and whilst runs for a minute returns to spurting out again.

thanks for getting back! the hot tap does it as does the cold, but only the taps that were replaced. each sink has a local shut off valve and i thought it was that but ive fiddled and poked. I may have to grit my teeth (and wallet) and get a man who knows in. :( im at a loss. its odd that its only affecting the replacement taps....

Did you buy your taps from B&Q? ive noticed that most B&Q taps iv'e fit before all needed their cylenders replaced. for some reason they bang and splutter.

OMG.. yes they are from B&Q. so what do i need to do to them, bash em with a hammer? thats what i feel like doing to them...

you know the cylender? thats the part you take out to replace the washer. that needs to be replaced with a universal one. i tried with another B&Q cylender and it still banged like crazy. any plumbing merchants should have a decent selection of tap cylenders or conversion kits. take it with you and someone there should tell you what kind you need.

I have no idea what it is with B&Q taps. they must be cheaply made. well the tap is fine, just the Cylenders in them are noisy.
