There's something called MCS (Microgeneration Certified Scheme or something like that). I think there are two types of registration. One is the MCS then the second one is the type of renewable (e.g. solar, wind, ground source, etc). Bloomin' minefield I think so all sorts of people can get their fingers in the pie!!

Is it like Corgi used to be " a volintary registration" or a have to be ???????

Ah! No idea, sorry!!

I have a feeling there's a Himalayan mountain worth of paperwork to wade through with this renewables stuff which is why only the larger companies have taken up these schemes. All I know is I've looked at what's involved once or twice and wondered why I bothered.

I think your right about paper work a few were having a moan about it on a coure I did.

Thanks mate

I've done one install in the past but that was under a big company. I remember talking to a spark on the site and he was chatting about in the near future "phase 5" on new sites that are creating at least one street worth of houses they had to supply the whole street with renewable engergy.

Any way... its the furthure! But only seems to be paying a small few at the moment! But a mint to be made in the next 10 years!

from what i understand you dont need to be registered with a body as such, like corgi or gas safe. HOWEVER you do need to have your F Gas qualification (for working with refrigerant gases) so you can pipe up and commission correctly.

You dont need to be registered to fit an air source, and as long as its a outdoor unit connected to the inside heating system with the with the heating pipework (glycol antifreeze) and not with refrigerant pipework to an indoor unit (F Gas Qualification).

The MCS registration is so you can offer the customer any Government incentives that may be on offer.
