Hi All
ive been out to an Alpha 240p combi today. hot water is only lukewarm, but rads start getting warm when hot water is on. central heating is ok. plate exchanger doesnt feel as warm as it should. which part of the diverter valve do you normally replace? im wondering whether its worth trying to repair considering the age of the boiler. im not sure that the diverter valve will seperate and also the aav is weeping.

Hey martin the thing is even a whole diverter and an AAV together wont be too much compared to a new boiler, mind you i couldnt believe it when i bought a pcb few weeks ago and my jaw hut the floor when i found out price so maybe best pricing bits first then the sales pitch mate , lol

Aplha parts for some reason can be more expensive ,

I would say Div but your phex could be clogging aswell not helping matters,

im reluctant to start to repair it and open a can of worms, complete diverter valve is £300+ and im not sure that the plate exchanger isnt partially blocked.

wow martin that is expensive , can u not get a service kit for the div, or just get your big pitch ready

Try control assy at the front of D V first, might just need a clean if the paddle is a brass one,
