customer called this evening about boiler not working with neon B & D continuously lit. In the MI it states that

B Illuminated continuously - Burner has failed to light.
Told customer to set the programmer to off so no heat demand for heating or water, reset boiler but same fault light show up. If no heat demand boiler shouldn't at the burner stage.

Read through the Mi and can't find anything about this fault. Anyone came across this before ?
help appreciated before repair tomorrow.

Never worked on that boiler. But had a similar problem with a Worcester greenstar where it wouldn't reset. It had the gas valve with the connections at the rear. Rain water had been coming down the air intake of the flue and shorting the gas valve.

Sounds like control defect. Wet / damp pcb. But alphas never leak I hear u say!

Had a call out with the same problem, different boiler. All it was, no gas from E6 electronic meter, the lady didn’t top it up right. DOH!

Is the pupm OK?

Are you sure about it? There’s the fault finding chart in the MI.

Spark generator, electrode and or gap on burner.

If the boiler fails to reset I would suspect the pcb!

If it leaks just as you put tool bag on floor it's Defo an alpha!
