Hi
our alpha boiler has been playing up and today both the A and B lights are flashing together indicating a flue/fan problem.

It has been rather loud of late but I put that down to it working harder in the cold weather. Now I suspect it is the fan.

The heating is still working as is the hot water but the system keeps losing pressure. My question is now that the lights are flashing should i turn off the boiler until I can get a plumber out tomorrow??

I am 9 months pregnant and also have a 3 year old so I'd like to stay warm but I'm worried about safety

thanks

get a gas safe engineer or british gas to look..... blocked flue or fan fault

A and B Flashing on and off at the same time - Blocked flue or fan fault, contact your Service Engineer.

Could be the Fan or PCB, but if it was doing this fault when its very cold outside,- it could be the condense pipe that has frozen up outside and back filling in the fan condense chamber above the primary heat exchanger!
This will give you the same fault lights as a Blocked Flue or Fan fault.

excellent advice make the call now to avoid being in the cold ,good luck
