Hi guys and gals,
I have an issue that I hope you can help me with.
A client would like me to change a commercial Andrews Water Heater that is gravity fed to mains.
Is it easy to change from gravity fed to mains pressure. The pipe works not a problem, and changed to pressure systems before, but not an Andrews Heater. I think It will be fine and just need to add a PRV.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

Fraser

Speak to Andrews. Not all of their cylinders can be converted

Do you have the relevant has safe qualifications for commercial gas appliances?

Don't take a chance and keep the custard happy. This is a serious appliance. Not like another water heater

These are simple appliances, but you will need to be GSR and unvented qualified to do the conversion properly. Andrews do a range of kits that are approved for their appliances.

The kits consist of strainer, check valve, expansion vessel, pressure/temperature relief valve and a pressure limiting valve.

If it is an existing unit in a soft water area, I would also check the sacraficial anode - these are magnesium rods and can be accessed from the top of the unit - you will need a 1", 1/16" box spanner to get it out. The anode should be no less than half its diameter along the whole length of the rod.

Burners on these can tend to crack, so i would check this also.
