My first post on the forum -
hi to all out there - I am slightly more "out there" than some - I am one of the fraternity who jumped UK shores and ended up in Spain (costa blanca) some 5 years ago
So hope no objections to being on the UK forum!
Its a somewhat different world to the UK - standards here are a whole new ball game
(if there are others on the forum also out in Spain, you will know exactly what that means!)
Just for the record, the temperatures out here today have been in the high 80's with high humidity - been like this all week - downside? working in it - Monday was a good day - bought new basin for client - hands, arms etc all very sweaty - result? basin slid through my hands and dropped on floor - ceramic tiles are not forgiving and said basin was no more! so back to supplier for another!
Its not all sunshine and sangria - believe me!

you have a nice lunchbreak in spain, most workers go to the bar for lunch, 3 course meal nice and cheap with your drink included, generally a cheap bottle of plonk and a bottle of lemonade (menu del dia) you then feel quite happy so go for a walk and in summer a swim at nearest beach, eyeing totty (banarse) at the end of your 3hour luck you go back to work, now sober (volver a trabajar). what a life it was (que vida tenia).
