Hi, my husband and I are looking to relocate in either Somerset or Devon (Bristol or Exeter), as general domestic plumbers (Level 2, no gas experience) and would appreciate any feedback on the amount/type of work currently available and average/hourly wages.

We are initially hoping to build our knowledge and experience of general plumbing over the first year, (pay a few bills!!!) and then enrol on some specialist courses, after which we would like to specialise in renewable heating alternatives.

We are very hard working and willing to spend time building our experience in order to get the correct foundations for our business' future, advice please

put a few more quid in the old van, and get to cornwall, get into maintaining holiday lets, if that does not work buy a surf board and chill!!

Mmmm sounds great, I like the way you think! Trust me we have thought about it! Is that where you are based? We heard pay is rubbish down that way, true or not? advice please...

Pay anywhere west of Exeter is a bit grim, and it seems difficult to unsettle the mentality that "I use Joe the plumber because my grandfather used him and my grandfather's grandfather used him....."

Brummies please note the correct use of the apostrophe. :D

Thanks for the info, its pretty much as we were thinking, but its always good to get confirmation. Bristol it is then.
