have any of you fitted one of these gizmo's? do you rate them? what sort of size would be required for a combi?
any links or advice would be welcomed

static pressure not bad, my feeling is mains could do with a boost for a 2 bathroom family house break tank is very impractical(not impossible) hence the query about the accumulator tank

Iv fitted one to an unvented cylinder. Bit different, i know, but same principle. Worked a treat. Had 15mm mains at 4 bar standing. When i isolated the accumulator, the flow was aweful. Open it up an you had a bath filled in less that five mins. Leave the sizing to the manufacturers even tho they will jus double it to be on the safe side. If you get one to small youll need to double up anyway.

Thomas on a combi your flow rate is determined by the boiler itself.
If you pass water through it too quickly it just wont get to temperature thats why they have flow regulators.

cheers fellas i know you cant make a combi produce more hw than it's designed to do i'm not that thick it's a 15 ltr a minute vaillant combi but divided as said between 2 bathrooms and kitchen so just wanted to boost the capability of the 15mm mains so hot water doesn't trickle when filling the kettle, sounds like these accumulators are quite good but are there any problems 6 months down the line? what is the maintainence etc? just trying to soak up a little knowledg/experience from those who matter (the guys who fit and use them) not a 2 bob salesman who'll tell me what i want to hear!
again any input much appreciated

Get one with a replaceable membrane!

not a 2 bob salesman who'll tell me what i want to hear!
Don't completely discount the reps - they tend to know their products quite well which can be useful on something you don't fit very often, like these accumulators.

Fitted a 500l one to a property fed from a borehole a few years back. Worked a treat as far as constant pressure and flow was required for cold feed to the property.
