I've been on Checkatrade for a while, since they've been bought out by Homeserve it has become overcomplicated, as much as we accomodate the algorithm the spend is now trippled and result is half the website clicks and fewer number of phonecalls. One noticeable thing has been their drive to sell. I get regular texts and calls not about satisfaction or anything but to entice me to spend another £600 on a leaflet drop.
The reason why I'm asking you guys here is becasue their customer support is so appauling I havn't been able to get this answer from them since November.. So here goes.

Since November whenever the customer uses our Checkatrade page to call us (it has a fake Checkatrade number that then forwards to us, they disallowed real numbers some years back) all we see on our end is something akin to a "withheld" - a 01329756870 number that will come up each and every time anyone rings through Checkatrade. Which is a bit of a nightmare if you miss a call, have no reception or customer calls while you are on he phone - you cant call them back! I am now suspecting this is another one of their measures perhaps they do not want customers to be hassled if they already made a booking..who knows? Checkatrade staff certainly don't 😐
