I am nearly at the end of the plumbing technical certificate level 2 and I am looking to get into the work place to further my skills and qualifications. So does anyone have any helpful advice and guidance that they could give me to find the work/apprenticeship in the South East of the UK? I am Brighton based so the closer the better but I am willing to travel and move.

Hello and :welcome: along,
likely the most asked question on here, so run a search and have a read of what's been said before.

The feed back you get might well be very dismissive.
If you are determined then you can make it work, but unless you have an easy route in like working for your Dad/uncle who is keen to take you on and has loads of work, it will likely not be easy.

You could post in the "looking for work" section and contact every plumbing firm you can find a phone number for.
You need to make the opportunities for yourself and be focused,
hope everything works out when you complete the course.

Have a look on here in the looking for work section. When I was starting out I sent out CVs and a covering letter with an evelope stamped and addressed back to me to promote a response but it worked better to know people were not taking on than be left wondering. If you struggle to get employment it may be worth contacting local plumbing companies to see if they can give you one or two days a week of onsite based work, its extra ammo in your war chest for a CV.

Pop down your local plumbing merchants with CVs and see if anyones taking on. Also JTL [DLMURL="http://www.jtltraining.com/youngpeople/plumbing.php"]JTL training - electrical, plumbing and engineering Advanced Apprenticeships.[/DLMURL] can help fund the apprenticeship if you are between 15 and 25 years old helping cut costs for an employer. If an opertunity does arrise its worth looking into contacting a college and having a word with the employer to see if they prefer block release or day release days at college.
