Hi

Just joined as I've a problem and wondered if anyone could offer some advice

I have an Aqualisa Aquavalve 200 thermostatic shower which was originally installed in 1987. The thermostatic shower cartridge was changed over a year ago but the water pressure hasn't been very good since it was fitted. The only difference in the old and new cartridges seems to be the new one has filters on the back of it and on the gasket.

As the installation is buried in the wall changing the whole body is a possibility but I'd rather not do that. Would it be advisable to drill the filters out to increase the water flow?

Thanks
Geoff

I've recently had to buy parts for this shower and I know theres two posible cartriges, one for gravity or pumped and one for combi boilers. Both will 'fit' but only one will work properly, they are colour coded if I remember.

ring the aqualisa helpline is your first port of call

they are very helpful

I have rung them and they said that the new cartridge had the filters because of it being redesigned. They told me to fit a newer type of shower assembly which meant that the wall had to be chased out to remove the old unit and to fit the new one.

The cartridge is the correct one for my installation but the new filters have restricted the flow so I'm tempted to remove the filters to see if that makes it better. The old cartridge works OK for the flow but was changed because it developed a fault.

One other quick question, the shower hose and sprinkler were also changed but not with genuine aqualisa items. Would the bore of the hose and the sprinkler head affect the low pressure I'm getting?
