Hi, I am currently having a new central heating system put in and the pipes being used are 15mm Floplast Barrier pipes? We have had a couple of people say that these are the incorrect pipes to use for a heating system and wanted some advice from other plumbers who have a better idea than the couple of people we have spoken to. I'm worried that we will need to start from scratch again.

Thanks

Your couple of people are wrong. So long as they don't connect it directly to the boiler (first meter should be in copper) then its fine.

You could insist that it is done in copper, but if your plumbers are push fit plumbers then that's it, ask the blue van men what the difference in price would be, be interesting, please come back and tell us unless it's too late. I wouldn't have it in the house but that's just my opinion

Barrier pipe fine. Just ensure inserts are being used and the pipework Is clipped

Ermi,

That's the problem and I agree with you its not the product that will let you down, its the installation and plumbers do not have the best track record along with electricians, joiners appear to be OK, perhaps a push fit joiner would be the man to get.

I am 100% with you on it.

The job got sorted yet? Can't believe someone would let a project look such a state. Site and project team should have been shot
