Need the tap manufactures name to be completely sure...otherwise your probably wasting money & time
 
yeah ...im thinking ofgoing through my tat and see what ive replaced in the past see ifi have an old mixer and try the spout on there...like you say waste of money otherwise but to be honest we all know how much fun changing bath taps are when the toilets next to it.
 
Looking at the marking on the right hand tap could possibly be Hudson Reed......best of luck ..regards Turnpin:)
