Hi, we've been having the E34 issue with our boiler for sometime now, ive read elsewhere it can be the air pressure switch (APS) or the fan.

Ive taken the APS off and cleaned it, and also had a look at the fan.

Problem : when ive put the APS back, theres two valves at the bottom, one at the front, and one at the back, i stupidly didnt take note of which valve the silicone pipe needs to be reattached to ??

Any suggestions? Ive attached it to the rear/back pipe, started the boiler up, but it comes on straight away with E33 now, previously it would heat the water up when the shower was on or tap, and after a few minutes would show the E34 error.

I can reattach to the front valve and see if that helps, but would like some advice first?

Just switched the bolier on again now, tried the hot tap, but it didnt even show the temp going up, and also no pilot light? should there be one?

someone could come on right now and tell you how to fix it but you obviously dont know what you're doing, anyone who did should atleast know if it has a pilot or not..

stop trying to fix your own boiler before you kill someone

do you know the answer to the original question or not? and your correct, it was easy to test, thats why we did it. the question was, which valve should it be on.

and i meant the pilot light was not on, of course i know whether it has a pilot light or not.

ARE YOU GSR?

Stop now before you do yourself or your family harm.

"It's only the APS, it's only the fan!"

Both of which are concerned with the safe operation of the boiler.

Please get someone in!

i know exactly what your problem is,its not your aps or your fan or venturies but i will not tell a non gsr engineer what the cause is call in a gas safe engineer your family's life is worth a lot more than your botched attempts at diy

As above, should really get somone in if you dont know if it should have a pilot or not mate

i dont know the answer either ,but as its an ariston i feel quite smug about that aps testing easy to do why does everyone say that they u cant even get the temp light now

I fixed it anyway, its not rocket science fella's, Its a basic bit of machinery. Im an engineering mechanic, Anyone with a bit of nounce about them can understand basic repairs, no need for a peice of paper with a number on. Thanks for all your help! i simply wanted know whether the pilot light came on straight away or needed time for the unit to start up etc.

your a herbet,it has no pilot light,it has electronic ignition, did you check the case seal afterwards,of course you did not would not know how, hope you have a co alarm

agree with a lot of these posts it so easy to fail to appriciate the genius of the balanced flue and because its understated someone who hasent fully considered it may feel a sense of mis placed confidence

You've spelled piece wrong, which doesnt fill me with confidence no matter how good an engineer you may be in other fields. There's a reason we spend so much time training and proving ourselves worthy of a gas safe card and as such if you haven't repaired your Ariston properly you wont need one of us to come round anymore your more likely to need a builder to put your house back together.
