Ariston Clas HE sp1 intermittent error

Hi guys,

I got a boiler to fix (Have not been to see it yet) - customer reports it is showing an intermittent SP1 error code (Ignition attempt failed).

I fixed one of those a while ago with SP1 and 501 codes and it turned out to be a PCB.

What is your experience with those boilers? I am aware that PCBs were crap on those and got upgraded later on. Is it usually PCB on those?

Think your will have to look at the boiler. no flame could be any number of things,

I am aware of that JTS. Problem is that with intermittent faults there is only so much you can do and with certain types of boilers there are known faults hence my question: what is your experience with SP1 error on this boiler?

Just had similar fault on another make of boiler , sometimes it would work for days other times an hour or so, flame sensor faulty, could be worth a look if they haven't been changed , how old is boiler ?
