Went to the above boiler to fit a new main pcb and spark electrode after another engineer.

Fitted the parts but it didn't resolve the issue.

Boiler fires but the burner pulsates on/off for a few seconds and then eventually goes to lockout.

Unable to get hold of Ariston as it's a bank holiday. Standing pressure was 25mb. Unable to get a working pressure as it goes out too quickly. I'm thinking gas valve fault, but want to see what others think as the customer has a 3 month old baby and we are unable to get the part until Tuesday, so don't want to be going there and needing to order another part.

It's not a rectification issue either, and meter regulator has just been replaced.

Anyone got any ideas??

Oh ye, condense trap is clear, flue clear also.

Eeeeeee, only thing left is the GV surely? 1st opinion would be rectumfication but if that's been checked.

The flame LED illuminates when it does light for a split second, so I'm assuming the rectification is all good. Well I've got it on order, so hopefully it's the gas valve, fingers crossed!

Just an update, replaced the gas valve and all working fine.

Although at first I thought I had another faulty gas valve as no gas was coming through the valve, then discovered that the max adjustment screw was screwed all the way in for some reason? No where in the instructions that came with it said about that!
