Am going to have a look at one of these tomorrow, went about four weeks ago because the owner said it was constantly flashing an alarm AO7 (Too many failures to ignite in one period during operation).

Anyway I spent almost an hour there and it ran perfect and didn't fail once. I had the cover off just to check the flue and pressure switch pipes etc but as it never failed I replaced and told the customer to ring me if it gets considerably worse or wont run at all.

I have no experience of this boiler whatsoever and wondered if there are any known issues regarding the boiler and it's parts....Many Thanks..goz.

you need to join the gas safe registered only forum goz,pm your details to Dave in admin , posts regarding gas safety will get better coverage that way

i can see by the nature of your posts your a gsr is this a HE boiler your working on or a SE

Have sent dave a message with my gas safe number and business details. The boiler is the HE condensing model been in about six years i think he said.
The info when I first went was that the boiler mainly failed when it was interrupted to use the DHW, on return to heating it fails ignition. Only very occasionally has it failed on first demand for heating or DHW.

i have not come across the ariston eco i have worked on loads of microgenus 27 mffi he boilers though

gas ,Venturi and electrode would be my first call. It could be a board problem hopefully not or gas valve. From memory the diverter valve can leak on to the thermistor and play havoc all , good luck

Thanks gasman, have been granted access to the GSR forum. I will just have to go and assess when I get there, can't think of anything that would stop the boiler from refiring when it's been interrupted due to DHW demand. Will check flue and venturi again, but I suspect it may be a pcb fault. Will report back tomorrow night.

Cheers marc, I put the eco mffi 27 but its the ACO mffi 27.

Well i went to the Ariston, checked a few things and decided to change the APS, up to now I haven't heard anything negative so presume that's all it was.
Although it was the second time I had been, the bloke said he'd tried to ring me last week and couldn't get hold of me so he got the lad back who fitted it. He said the GSR came in, said he knew nothing about Aristons, rang Ariston tech line, put the phone down and said you best ring someone else i don't know what they meant....:dizzy2::lol:
