Morning,

I've had a ariston europrisma installed temporarily while I renovate the house. I have a proble with it.

It starts off giving hot water when I put the water on. However, after about 30 seconds it stops giving water and the orange light comes on. If I leave it for a few minutes the orange light goes off again and I can put the hot water back on again.

What is happening and can I fix it ?

Your taking too much hot water from it. 3kw on full flow is only about 2-4 litres a minute. What are you feeding from this, as it's only a point of use heater ( one very slow tap)

Orange light means its re heating... A heater like this is designed to feed a wash hand basin etc... So don't expect constant hot water from it!!

Phone the plumber back & tell him you were hoping for longer power showers ;)

To empty a europrism in 30 seconds you'd need a flow rate of 20 litres a minute

Probably the same TFW who said street elbows couldnt be used on gas on another thread.

+1 next the muppet will say you can't use copper pipe on gas only push fit as it has two layers of protection :D

when i get back up there tomorrow, i'll measure the flow but 20 litres a minute, i think i can drink faster than that.

i'll put up all 6 of them for sale on ebay.
