Hi everyone

My girlfriend's boiler seems to be in need of some fixing. A while a god it started playing up and now every time it tries to start, if gets about 10 seconds in and then throws up an Error 104 (insufficent circulation) and says "flow rate check failed". I'm not a plumber but I'm mechanically minded and hand with tools.

Any ideas?

Purr landlord has refused to fix it until she signs a new contract with some terms she is not too happy about. Regardless of the situation she is without hot water or heating.

Is there anything I can do?

Chris

I would suggest moving. Or contacting your local citizen advice.

Your landlord has a duty of care. I wouldn't tamper with the boiler and if you do pay someone and some thing happens to boiler. You may be liable

Currently moving is not an immediate solution, neither is legal action as she could end up with no where to live, and her belongings on the street.

I was just wondering whether it was the boiler needing a full service or whether it could be an air lock or similar?

At one point the boiler was at almost 3 bar cold. Relieved the pressure to 1.5 and it fired up and worked for 4 days, no problems.

Currently it's not playing ball.

Hi Wildfire .... It sounds like the appliance is having water flow issues or detection problems that could be down to several reasons ... As mentioned, the landlord has a duty of care to maintain heating. Let them sort it :)
