Hi Guys,

Im having an issue with the above boiler and would be very grateful if anyone could shed some light on it.

Wether its hot water usage,thermostat/timer or manual use,The boiler fires up for about 3 seconds then shuts off.The pump keeps on running and i get a red error led lit next to the reset button 2012-11-11_14-01-12_315.jpgbut the boiler is no longer heating.

If i press the reset button the boiler fires up and runs fine (sometimes have to press the reset button a couple of times),but can also shut off again after half an hour or so,or if i try using hot water while its running.

First thing i did was try the X800 and X400 chemicals from screwfix for just over a week in the system with no joy.I then had the heat exchange removed and descaled. My rads are now hotter but boiler still showing the sam fault.

There are no strange noises when the boiler is running.Pressure is around 1bar normally and just under 2 while running.(ive tried lower and slightly higher pressure to the same end)

Any ideas guys?

thanks!

get a gsr engineer in these are awkward boilers to fix at the best of times, just a one to check, even when the boiler ignites can you still hear the sparker clicking like crazy?

When the boiler ignites i cant hear the sparker going after that, only for the initial fire.cheers

Did you get anywhere with this? I have the same problem. So far the GSRs have replaced the PCB, the spark generator and the gas valve. To no avail.

Does not spark after it heats up once, have to wait til it cools right down before it will spark again.

We cannot and will not give advice on the installation or repair of boilers for your own safety.

Please go to Gas Safe Register | Ensure your gas engineer is registered. or post a thread in the 'I'm looking for a plumber / gas engineer' section of these forums remembering to include your location. [DLMURL="http://www.ukplumbersforums.co.uk/im-looking-plumber-gas-engineer/"]I'm looking for a Plumber or Gas Engineer[/DLMURL]

If you are gsr please increase your post count to 10+ then send a pm to either Gas man or Redsaw who will then check you and then give you access to the gsr private forum.

Thank you.
