Hi all set up is worcester 35cdi system with integrel diverter valve fitted and coupled to a horizontal indirect unvented tank. All fitted in attic space. Want to put auto byepass in heating flow / return. Question is all pipe work is concealed and want to put in easiest place which would be right next to boiler itself. At best this means i would have to fit in a place just behind boiler, i suppose i only have about 3m before pipework is hard to access. Does anyone know if this would be too close ie not enough run when fully byepassing.

Size wise that's fine for any bypass, because your not using zone valves and if your CH is being controlled by a room stat with rad with lockshields you won't need bypass because the diverter is internal,

Set up has worcester wave thermostat and trvs on all rads. I say all, thats why i was putting auto bypass on. Wave was installed to give easy access remomotley controlling boiler as itc was in attic.

The system thermostat needs to be in a position where it is influenced by a radiator that is not controlled by a TRV.

IIRC the Worcester CDi doesn't require an external bypass. It's internal bypass has to be set correctly when one radiator (the one that is not controlled by the TRV) is on and all the others are off.

This, which is essentially a matter of RTFM, should all have been checked by the person who installed the hive controller.

No hive fitted a wave contoller was ysed and main question is i need to fit auto byepass as per installation diagram but need to know if it was fitted close to bolier how close can it be. Seem to remember on previous installs tgst they should be a miniumum of 2m from boiker

The distance varies from boiler to boiler depending, largely, on the design of the heat exchanger. Some don't require external bypass some require quite a minimum loop volume. The installation instructions for the boiler will specify.
