fitted a bristan qube mixer today it cost£110 and to be honest it is disappointing tat flexys[for gods sake i am a pro]that go into the tap so far they cant be tightened properly and the insides are plastic including the threaded section the tails go into its like a cheap imported £50 tap briston have imported and are selling dear think i will look for a better make:mad::(:(

i had a sink mixer the same you couldnt tighten more than hand tight as the tails went right inside got to admit even hand tight they dont leak

to be fair these dident but dont give you confidence they wont fail over time,and the damage water does
 
Is'nt the joint made by 'o' ring on end of flexi against body of tap,so only have to be hand tight ,same with copper tails too can put a bit of lock tight on thread if you wish
