Replacing a rad and leaking trv. Once rad been replaced trv leaked from reducer. Changed reducer, movement split the soldered joint. Stripped down, soldered again! Done!
In between all this drained down 3 times and 10 mouthfuls of rad water! 90 mins job turned into a day out!

Would have been easier with wet vac, what do you do lay on your back and empty the rad into mouth? :drool5:

Ha ha not on back just bit of water left in the pipe that entered the wall so had to come out to solder. Tastes nice

never had to do that mate either blow into the pipe to get rid of the water or use a wet vac, wouldnt like 1 mouthful of rad water never mind 10 lol

Taste is another one of our senses worth using when diagnosing problems. Fernox tastes different to sentinel! An actively pumping over system has a distinctly different taste to a de-oxygenated one :) I've had my lips around many an open vent and piece of pipework over the years
