Quoting to convert from a back boiler to combi.
The customer has been told by another that they can keep the fire connected to the gas and I always thought that couldn’t be done.

what do you guys think?

Would think that if you leave the old boiler in place it would keep the flue as per M.I. as you can use a fire without the boiler running. Would ring the manufacturer for advise though

If you drain and permanently disconnect the back boiler from gas, electric and heating but leave it in place, there is no problem.

You may also look at closing up the ventilation.

The flue from the fire will obviously still utilize the boiler hood but it is designed to do that.

Yes I believe baxi approve leaving it in with the boiler
