hi
i have a double sided hunter herald 14 stove that sits between 2 rooms in my home. I am wondering would it be possible to fit a back boiler? The stove produces great heat but only for the 2 rooms. It would be great to be able to heat water/radiators using the stove.
Does anyone know if to is possible?
thanks in advance!

If it was effective Hunter and most other reputable manufacturers would have included the boiler in that type / model a long time ago, there is only one manufacturer I know of who offers this option and that is because they will respond to anything they think consumers want without considering the quality.

Solid fuel stove boilers wrap around the inside of the stove taking heat from the two sides and the back of the stove, the tappings (pipe connections) are on the back of the stove, this is not really possible to achieve with a double sided stove.

Taking tappings from the side of the stove could in my opinion cause a major safety issue as the draw off of hot water produced would not be balanced, a baffle with a water jacket across the top of the stove tends to suffer from a build up of carbon due to temperature differences within the fire box also the size of the boiler / baffle would not provide much heat.

Enjoy the stove you have, it does what it was designed to do, bear in mind that if you want to heat water you will be using more fuel.
