Hello fellow plumbers!! Was busy in London quite a few years back plumbing, refurbs etc, & moved to Somerset to be nearer to mum & the "Old Man" who are getting on a bit now!!!! But work has been so slow, had to do window cleaning for a bit & my brain died lol!! Only doing little odd jobs plumbing & kinda got out of the swing of things!! Bit behind with the water regs etc. Anyway, flogged the round whilst some brain cells were still working & back on the tools with a vengeance now. Lot more plumbing now & refurb work which I love & things picking up again & guess what???? My brains started working again!! Lol!!
Just wanted to say hello to my fellow grafters & say that this seems to be a top plumbing forum, from what I have read so far. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge Guys!!:D

Keep up the good work, regards Dyl

Used to Quoting back in London £150-£200 a day, even 10/12 years ago, worked alot in Blackheath, Dulwich etc. No-one batted an eyelid!! In somerset, I've had to settle down to £120 a day (even that can be considered a bit steep at times by the locals!) here & a bit on materials, some of the village folk who have a few bob, get priced u for closer to £130-£140 a day..but thats not frequent. Bet generally people thought I was trying to rip them off!! Rents cheaper though £625 I pay for a large 3 bed house, that would cost £1500+ in London, so bit of a no brainer really!! Scrumpy? I hear you say? Found a little farmer, who made some mind blowing stuff - Made in old rum casks! WOW - had to stop drinking it for the sake of me liver! LOL! Should have been sold as some kind or paint/stripper or caustic acid!!
Thats why you hear stories of missing people in Somerset!! They drink this stuff & go missing for days, have heard a few true stories..Poeple falling into holes & down banks..waking up a couple of days later..LOL it's hilarious mate!!

Welcome Dyl. I must say I'm surprised at how low the rates are there. I'm sure the scenery and lifestyle go some way to make up for it though.

Thanks Mate, scenery is really nice & it's very peaceful. I'm slowly getting more jobs in the villages :) But it's a poor town, so hence low rates, Taunton down the road, much richer town, is probably more akin to London rates, but that's a motorway haul, so not really worth it in the long run! Ta Dyl
