I have a Tavistock back to the wall toilet.
This is going on to a marble floor.
The toilet pan fixes down using two L shaped brackets screwed down into the floor and then two screws inserted horizontally either side of the pan.
When I position the toilet where it should go there is a slight rock. In other words it sits level but if I put pressure on the front of the bowl it rocks forward. This is only very slight and probably talking 1 or 2 mm maybe.
I am thinking there are a few options before I fit it down:
1) Insert some plastic shims to level out the pan, trim them off flush then screw the toilet down and silicone. My only concern would be that the whole of the base would not be fully supported as there inevitably would be gaps.
2) Sit the pan down on something, ie, sand & cement, tile adhesive, etc... I figure silicone would not be any good due to the fact that it would move. Then screw it down.
3) Not do anything other than screw it down. The fixings are near the back of the pan so they may hold it down and prevent the pan from moving forward. I'm not convinced on this one.
I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks in advance,
Daz
