Hi all

Just been to quote a job where a customer wants me to rip out old fire and put in new inset fire. On showing her a few of the fires in various brochures, she asked about "one of those fires that look like a TV" anyway told her she could not have one for various reasons. One of which was that she did not have background heatining ie Rad in lounge.

Anyway my question is Why do you need background heat for a flueless fire?

Shes not having one but i'd like to be able to tell her why you need background heat as its a question I could not answer.

I know it may seem like a silly question but I have never worked on/installed these fires (and never will!!!!)

It's to do with stopping the build up of condensation in the room.
