I need a 2 channel programmer that has a backlight. I have a couple but the backlights are not particularly brilliant, from the point of brightness and text size.
Can anyone recommend a decent one with a good level of illuminated display and a good sized text.

Plenty on the market, I suggest a Google search for twin channel programmer an go from there, but here‘s some:

There are these as well: Honeywell Home T4 Wired Programmable Thermostat - https://www.NoLinkingToThis/p/honeywell-home-t4-wired-programmable-thermostat/8672V?tc=JT7&ds_kid=92700055281954502&ds_rl=1249404&gclid=Cj0KCQiAsqOMBhDFARIsAFBTN3c918sTlW-9ImyImg5cFOav98lQ5tt5fEaadb_gHMxtBq-kAPMyBpQaAo0aEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

IME, plenty of programmers have decent sized digits for the temperature but the secondary information, such as day and status is often very small so I'm also interested to learn of examples where this isn't the case.

My eyes are getting old, so in my own home I installed wireless programmers that can be easily unclipped from their wall-mounting, adjusted and then clipped back. Not a perfect solution but it works for me.

Like you eyesight not as good as it once was. I have a Drayton Wiser Thermostat Kit that I was going to fit but will keep that till the next house as I think we will be moving in the not too distant future.
Have moved position of original programmer from where it was , stuck on the side wall of the airing cupboard. One had to bend ones head to look at it face on. Now mounted outside the cupboard.
