went to a job Friday afternoon, swung the van into the drive...BANG! hit a bollard with the front of the van, bollard about 7 inch high, never see it, am now looking at a replacement engine carrier for the van £350 inc vat plus fitting. Rang the insurance claims line..."We will send someone out in the next 48 hours" 48 HOURS! thats a lot of good when you need a van for Monday, replacement van for when my van goes off to be mended??? Yep there is a Nisan Micra for me to use, A Micra! what good is that to a Plumber??? Went off and hired a Transit for the week, see how I get on with that, this could be my second van if I like it, might try hiring a Vivaro after that,:D

Every cloud...

Typical insurance company, love to take your money, never want to pay it out though..

are you sure its worth claiming of your insurance?time they stop the excess and then lose no claims bonus

No I am not sure its worth the claim, for all the aggro it has caused me, now I know how cheap the parts are I probably will not be claiming, still a pain in the ar5e.

Friday must have been a bad day all round. I was working at a client's, and when I turned up there was a SKY installer's van parked in the drive. (a big drive area in front of big house, could get about 8 vans there all at once.)

I was cutting some plasterboard on the drive to repair stud wall and went back upstairs to double check a particular dimension, when I came back down I discovered that the lazy ****ard had reversed his van over my 6 ft spirit level on his way out,, completely crimping it. Got his mobile no off the client and called him. Got a load of sarcasm off him and more attitude than you could put a big hat on, told me to phone SKY cust services and make claim, I've been on phone (on hold for 'kin ages, gave up in the end.)

Reckon spirit level cost me about £40, now working on method to get at least £40 quids worth of revenge out of SKY,,,anybody got any ideas??

Stuffing my busted spirit level up the SKY installer's jaxie is my favourite,,but thats not really practical.

Was thinking of one or two things, but an invoice for the replacement might produce something. And if this doesn't work, a letter to a national weekend newspaper in their Money section.

This action probably requires the least time and effort and should produce a positive result.

I would favour high expansion foam with an extension on the nozzle, then an application of the foam up the said installers van exhaust, when nobody is looking

Every body faces such bad days in life...and you get all the more irritated when things don't work out as you wish.

Thanks for the input fellas,,gave me a giggle,,life's too short,,but if I see his van somewhere rest assured I will block the t**t in and enjoy a long slow coffee somewhere while he's stuck.
