badly fiited pump

hello all.

I was recently asked to look at a faulty shower pump. I expected the pump to be near the HWS cyliner but found it behind the back of the bath, 2 floors up. The pump is plumbed into the hot and cold supply to the bath filler/shower mixer. So the pump is pulling the water and not pumping.
Apart from re-plumbing the pump with a direct feed from CWS tank and HWS cylinder. Are there any other options?!!!!

I have seen this done alot by DIYers and they do work but only for a short time the only way to put it right is to install it correctly the reason for the pump under the bath is they didn't want to re-pipe or they have a tiled floor and do not want to replace it

why is this so hard wearing on the pump.have nt came across this.what are the issues to say the pump won t last too long under these circunstances.

its trying to pull the water not pump it its like fiting a CH pump on the return not the feed it will work for a bit but the life of the pump will be a lot less than it should be

a shower pump will never pull water only push.
so any early heating systems with pumps on the return don't last ?

the reason a shower pump gos on its own feeds is for starvation purposes
providing the pumps below the cws it will work.
