baffled by Ariston Microgenus 24 HE no heating, but hot water ok

Job for a close friend of mine, he has an Ariston Micrgenus 24HE (unfortunately).

It's acting as though there is hot water demand (but there are no taps open). The red led on the flow switch illuminates when the tap is run, which tells me the switch is good? When i unplug the switch and turn the boiler on it gives me heating as normal.

Any input would be much appreciated as i'm not too familiar with this boiler!

when does it turn on (hot water demand) when the cold is turned on etc or random / on all the time?

HW on all the time no matter what you do with the taps, it just overheats itself

sounds like a faulty flow switch or hot mixing with cold

faulty mixer shower or tap,try isolating the hot and see what happens
