Since being here in France, I have never ceased to be amazed at the ingenuity of the French for making barbecues, ranging from an ex Luftwaffe 200ltr oil drum cut in half lengthways, and put to better use, the most popular style is an old hot water cylinder, or an old hydro-accumlater (its bigger)cut down lengthways, some l the other half hinged so it can be swung over to keep the charcoal alight, others have just a segment cut away, all seem to be of one idea, and that is to be able to roast a whole pig or sheep
The drum of a side loader washing machine, when the machine is scraped, is reclaimed for a lobster/crab pot
The best use I have seen for an old but still working bulk milk tank, was to use it for chilling the bottled beer at a fate
