Hi guys need some info for a friend please.

Basin taps need new revivers, taken old cartridge out but when he put new ones in they just turn and turn, do not shut the water off. Tried another set with spacers to make deeper which work but keep coming apart, after a week.

These are just the standard revivers you can get off the shelf. Does any one know of another set they can recommend, the taps themselves are pretty old.

Thanks

I'd push to replace taps buddy. You can waste hours trying to source a cartridge that might be obsolete. Last option is take cartridge to a merchant and see if they can match it or even just refresh the parts

as above unless you know the make and get them direct new tap all day

You will get extension pieces with some of the tap revivers - usually a couple of heavy brass 'washer' extension pieces and a couple of longer brass bolts.
Screwfix sets come supplied with them. About £8.49 for modern heads and £12 for old style from memory. The old style heads are substantial and very decent looking.
But as above posts, just replace the taps and take the old taps for scrap if it is handier

Oracstar adapt-a-taps do similar have used before and used multiple spacers to get me out of trouble .....best to change taps for new as said above.....regards Turnpin:smile5:

Thanks for the replies, pretty much as expected. He said it's going to be an absolute pig to change the taps I think he has to take the basin off the wall and it's old so was hoping to avoid it. I'll tell him to try the other revivers mentioned but not to get his hopes up. I'm sure I had the same thing once and just changed the taps.
