Hi All,

I hope someone can shed some light on this one please.

We have recently had a chrome waste trap fitted to a pop up drain, similar to the picture attached (sorry i've not been able to take a photo of ours). the problem i am having is (perhaps it's me being OCD), i am finding the threaded part showing (red oval on picture) unpleasant to see. is it normal for it to show? I feel the part marked (A) should go right up to the worktop. only problem is, it cannot be screwed on any more. only "solution" appears to be to cut the thread but not sure if that's the correct way to go about it.

(The black part coloured in on the picture represents the worktop)

thank you in advance, for any input.

Moona

Thats the way it is i'm afraid unless you buy or use a pop up type grating.
Stop lying on the floor looking at it ;)

hahaha that's made my day thank you :) you're not half wrong though

you can cut the waste but it needs to be cut perfectly flat as those traps are usually flat faced

Thank you guys, i really appreciate the advice. I think i will leave it (as chances are it will get cut wrong), and when needed we'll change the waste and plumbing pipes but for now they'll have to do (and i'll stop looking at it :) ).

thanks

but then you wont be able to use your pop up waste, just stays open (the one in the link)

ah ok, so we won't be able to hold water in the basin if we get this one? thanks
