marsaday

I have dropped a hammar in a bath and it has left a dent, crack and it is leaking.

I understand you can repair this with a kit. has anyone done this before ?

Do they work. i will try post a photo if i can of the crack

The bath is in a rental so not bothered about looks. To remove the bath will be a big pain, plus it needs to be 1650mm in size so it will cost a fair bit i reckon.

I once dropped a pipe through a bath, perfect 22mm hole! Used a marine fibreglass repair kit! That was some years ago now mind you but you must still be able to get this sort of thing I'd imagine marsaday :)

If its cost effective there are people who specialise in repairs like this, a tiler I worked with dropped a tile once and mullered a steel bath, once the repair guy was finished it was hard to tell it was ever damaged at all.

yes i have seen the repair kit at toolsation and the local plumb merchant. Just wondered if anyone had used them before

Re: ~~ ~~ ~~

Even though it's a "pain" pal, do yourself a favour and do it right. Rip it out and replace it. Repairs of any kind are seldom permanent. Would you like someone in your house to slap some goo over a hole in your bath to cover up their mistake?

We are plumbers, the industry is getting a bad name left, right and centre from tv shows like Cowboy Builders, Rogue Traders etc, please don't add to it.
