I am currently having issues with the hot water running through my mixer tap in the bathroom. The hot and cold water run fine through the tap but when I switch it to the shower, the hot water starts to run for only a couple of minutes before running cold. I have to then turn the hot tap off and on again to restart the flow of hot water - before it runs cold again! Showers are now taking ages!!

I would be most grateful for any help and/or advice as to how I can fix the issue, or do I have to call in a plumber?

Thank you!

Yeh look at head but sounds like problems with the tap. It can sometimes be an issue with standard mixers when water pressure isnt balanced and cold main over powers hot unless you have combi boiler. It take tap inserts out grease up n new washers. The jumper in the hot side maybe loose allowing cold to over power.
