Bathroom tap advice

Hi All,

When I turn the hot tap off on bathroom sink when it's at the final turn and the water is stopped the tap turns past it and water comes on? I can constantly turn it clock wise till water stops then past it water on and to the stop point again? Anyone had this before
Tap insert and top are only 4mths old

sounds like 1/4 turn tap and you have broken it
